Blueberry Arts Festival Art Exhibit Deadline

All exhibit submissions will debut at the Opening on Friday, August 6th, from 5:00 -7:00 pm. The exhibit will be on display at the Main Street Gallery through August 27th. The exhibit will also be available to view or purchase online at www. ketchikanarts.org Artwork may or may not be for sale. The Main Street Gallery retains a 25% gallery commission on all sales. Participants must be current members of the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council and in good standing to receive free entry. Otherwise, it is a $30 entry fee. Prizes will be awarded to Adults ages 25 and over for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place. Young Adults ages 17 - 24, and Youth 0 - 16 will each receive a First in Age Group Award. One entry from the entire exhibit will receive the Peoples Choice Award! Prizes will be awarded at 5:00 pm on August 7th. People’s Choice will be awarded at the end of the month. All two-dimensional entries must be framed and ready to hang with wires, saw-toothed hangers, etc. Cardboard and plastic hooks are not acceptable. All three-dimensional entries must be ready for display. For larger entries, please check in advance with the Arts Council to ensure that we can accommodate your piece.

LOCATION: Buggies Beach, City Park, Ward Lake, and Refuge Cove

DAY & TIME: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM Tuesdays & Thursdays

COST: FREE, this class is free to all KIC Tribal members
and the general public
AGES: People of all ages are welcome, children must be
accompanied by a responsible adult

Arts Report on KRBD

Each week at approximately 8:20 am KRBD hosts the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council for their weekly report on arts and humanities in Ketchikan and the surrounding area. Get a synopsis of the local music scene, performances, Gallery exhibits, pop-ups, and Calls to artists. The Arts Report often features special guests from the Ketchikan Theatre Ballet, Artists, and Curators. Tune in weekly to KRBD 105.3 FM Ketchikan, Metlakatla and Saxman, 107.1 FM North Ketchikan, Ward Cove, and Ketchikan, 101.7: Craig, 90.7: North Point Higgins, 90.1: Mountain Point, Hydaburg, Klawock, and Thorne Bay.
