"Portable Southeast" exhibit - The Commons Gallery

Thursday, July 3, 20258:00 amMonday, July 28, 202512:00 pm
The Commons Gallery at TFCU

Artists from all over Southeast Alaska have works in the "Portable Southeast" exhibit facilitated by the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council. The exhibit travels to each community and is exhibited. "Portable Southeast" will be on display in Ketchikan at The Commons Gallery in the TFCU building in July. Artists from Ketchikan include Mimi Kotlarov, Kathryn Rousso, and Naona "Peaches" Wallin.

Born from the need to connect, Portable Southeast is a region-wide opportunity to bridge artists, arts organizations, and businesses across Southeast Alaska. Existing at some level of isolation is common among our island communities - especially given our limited transportation methods, long distances, and unpredictable weather. Portable Southeast offers a unique opportunity to cross both geographical and social barriers - exhibiting works from Alaskans in cities both small and large, at venues both traditional and non-traditional. Portable Southeast provides a new and exciting mode for artists to showcase their works beyond local reach, and brings works into new community gathering spaces.

The full list of exhibit artists are Helen Alten (Haines); Robert “Bo” Anderson (Douglas); Ember Livingston Emmons (Sitka); Lily Hope (Juneau); Hilary Hunter (Douglas); Timi Johnson (Douglas); Kierstin B Keller (Auke Bay); Terry Kennedy (Tenakee Springs); Christine Kleinhenz (Juneau); Mimi Kotlarov (Ketchikan); Miah Lager (Douglas); Cynthia Lagoudakis (Petersburg); Jane Lindsey (Douglas); Amanda Neyenhouse (Douglas); Patrick C Ripp (Juneau); Teri Gardner Robus (Juneau); Kathryn Rousso (Ketchikan); Lisa Schramek (Petersburg); Ellie Sharman (Gustavus); Mariia Taylor (Thorne Bay); Naona “Peaches” Wallin (Ketchikan); Grace Wolf (Petersburg); and Rico Worl (Juneau).
