Walmart Community Mural Program/ NOW Art

NOW Art are looking for artists who can create a design that reflects cultural references that connect
to the local community and who can create murals for the various store locations in Alaska. This work will be done remotely so the ability to work digitally or translate traditional media into a high resolution is a must. Artists will not have to work on-site and can be paid up to $800 for completed commission work. To participate in this program and be selected they are considering artists who create
compositions in the following styles: watercolor, oil painting, street art, realism, and classical
styles like landscape. Alaska, U.S.A.

A new dance series to learn East Coast Swing starts on January 9
Two classes to choose from:
Doors open for check-in: 5:45
Beginners: 6:00-6:45 (Swing 101 + Swing 2)
Intermediates 6:55 - 7:30 (Swing 4)

The first class of the year is FREE for the community! On January 9, try out Swing 101
The rest of the month's series is $22 for one class, $38 for both classes.
No partner needed, but reservation is required. Register via FB messenger @BOOMbal Dance Hall, mask are optional.

Join them on Tuesdays from 6-9:00pm and bring your weaving, regalia, and design projects to work in the company of fellow Northwest Coast artists and students.

Ketchikan Theatre Ballet Adult Tap

Adult Tap is an Open-Level Tap class that is great for adults with no previous dance experience and also offers a fun environment for those with tap experience.

Come tap into your inner dancer with this rhythm-based dance class! No previous dance or tap experience is needed. KTB has some used tap shoes available for rent or purchase or simply wear a hard sole dress or low heel shoe. Tap shoes can be ordered through KTB as well. Punch cards also available for this class.

Arts Report on KRBD

Each week at approximately 8:20 am KRBD hosts the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council for their weekly report on arts and humanities in Ketchikan and the surrounding area. Get a synopsis of the local music scene, performances, Gallery exhibits, pop-ups, and Calls to artists. The Arts Report often features special guests from the Ketchikan Theatre Ballet, Artists, and Curators. Tune in weekly to KRBD 105.3 FM Ketchikan, Metlakatla and Saxman, 107.1 FM North Ketchikan, Ward Cove, and Ketchikan, 101.7: Craig, 90.7: North Point Higgins, 90.1: Mountain Point, Hydaburg, Klawock, and Thorne Bay.
