Marilyn Lee at the Discovery Center
Artist Marilyn Lee will exhibit at the Southeast Alaska Discovery Season with an exhibit of charcoal and graphite studies of trees on local Ketchikan trails. You can enjoy the exhibit while visiting the Discovery Center.
The Southeast Alaska Discovery Center will finally be OPEN on cruise ship days starting July 9 (8 am -4 pm). Open Thursday-Sunday starting July 29 - October 15th

Arts Report on KRBD
Each week at approximately 8:20 am KRBD hosts the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council for their weekly report on arts and humanities in Ketchikan and the surrounding area. Get a synopsis of the local music scene, performances, Gallery exhibits, pop-ups, and Calls to artists. The Arts Report often features special guests from the Ketchikan Theatre Ballet, Artists, and Curators. Tune in weekly to KRBD 105.3 FM Ketchikan, Metlakatla and Saxman, 107.1 FM North Ketchikan, Ward Cove, and Ketchikan, 101.7: Craig, 90.7: North Point Higgins, 90.1: Mountain Point, Hydaburg, Klawock, and Thorne Bay.

Practice, Practice, Practice those delish blueberry dishes! Bring in your dish by 3:00 pm sharp to get it judged against the rest of Ketchikan. Prizes for First, Second, and Third!
Rules for the Best Blueberry Arts Festival Blueberry Dish…
• Dishes are due to the arts council – ready to serve before 3 pm on Friday, August 6th, Doors are locked at 3:00 for Judging!!!
• Must provide 3 servings, of up to two recipes will be accepted.
• Your dish may be savory or sweet.
• Your dish should make a recipe that will allow for 3 sample servings.
• The predominant flavor profile must be…BLUEBERRIES!!!
• The dish must be an original recipe OR your own personal adaptation of a recipe.
• The winning dish will be featured on the specials menu for the month of August at the New York Cafe.

Pet, Doll, and MASK Parade!
Every year, the 3-day Blueberry Arts Festival starts with a Parade! The CUTEST Parade in town!!! The Pet, Doll, and Mask Parade! Bring your favorite pet or doll or both! Dress up, dress them up! And this year a prize is given to the most FESTIVE MASK!!!! Fun fun fun!!! Free to all! Appropriate for all ages! Youngsters and their parents adorn wagons, pets, and dolls and parade down Main Street! This year the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council will do the same but with the addition of MASKS to help protect our youngest unvaccinated community members. Get creative, have fun, make a mask for yourself, make a matching one for your doll or teddy bear, decorate your wagon, bring a friend with four legs......! Don't have kids, dolls, or pets? Enjoy the cutest parade in town from the sidewalks of Main Street!
Opening Reception - "Blueberry Arts Festival Art Exhibit"
Join us for the Opening Reception of the "46th Annual Blueberry Arts Festival Art Exhibit". This annual open-call exhibit features new works from the whole community working in any medium. Main Street Gallery openings are always the first Friday of the month and are free and open to the public.
