Rainy Day Quilt Guild Monthly Meeting

This meeting is the Rainy Day Quilt guild is a monthly meeting. The group meets in the basement room of the church beginning at 6:30pm on the 4th Tuesday of the month.

Our annual meeting will be shown on Facebook Live which allows us to not have people in the Gallery but does give general access to the meeting. Please join the Board of Directors and Staff of the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council for the Annual Meeting. We will celebrate the successes and growth from 2019 and acknowledge our shortcomings with an eye toward improvements!! We will review our fiscal stability, our programs, and our strategic goals.

Calling all youth for NorthWestCoast Art
Preparations for Celebration and the Youth Art Exhibit are underway! Sealaska Heritage are seeking applicants for their youth exhibit featuring NWC art made by students within the last two years. Please encourage students to apply and create NWC art this semester.
The deadline to apply is March 27th. The deadline for the finished artwork is April 13th.

!!!This class has been tentatively rescheduled for June 27th and 28th!!!
This Double-up Batik class is a special two-day class, Friday 7:00 - 9:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm Saturday! Batik is a method of dyeing fabric by applying hot wax to areas to be left undyed. You will learn the techniques of applying the hot wax and dying your own fabric. Muslin pieces are provided, but feel free to bring your own 100% cotton fabric to dye as time permits.

Participants of the 2020 Stories at Latitude *56 "Home" a production of the KAAHC, may attend one or both of two workshops offered at the Main Street Gallery, dates TBA. There is no cost to participate.

These workshops are designed to help participants develop, refine, or discover their own best methods for telling their own (true) tales. It is intended that these stories will be told extemporaneously, and neither read nor recited: this is a call for oral storytelling. If interested please e-mail Jack!

This KAAHC Program has been Canceled! Studies in Macro! Instructor Loren McCue for ages 1st through 6th. Take a closer look at the still life around you. Students explore multiple different mediums while studying still-life up close and personal. Get into the details. Six Saturday classes culminate in an art reception at Loren's studio, The Artery during the Celebration of the Sea Art Walk, May 1st.
