The Smithsonian Arctic Studies Center Alaska and Sealaska Heritage Institute invite you to join them on Friday, June 18th, 2021 at 10:00-10:30am AK / 2:00pm-2:30pm EST for the webinar “Voices from Cedar: Southeast Alaska Wind Instruments.”

Join Tsimshian Master Artist John C. Hudson III at his art studio in Metlakatla for a conversation about Southeast Alaska wind instruments, with a focus on whistles carved from red cedar. Find out about online videos where you can learn how to carve a whistle with John as your teacher. Dawn Biddison from the Smithsonian Arctic Studies Center Alaska will host the event.
