Artists

Ketchikan area Artists and Creatives have been inspiring the communities of this area since the beginning. Whether it is beautifully engineered and created halibut hooks, or the magnificent totem poles of the area, to the stories, poetry and drawings for the inception of the Alaska Magazine, to the creation and evolution of Wearable Art in Alaska artists continue to make the world we live in meaningful and joyful.

2026 Postcard Contest submissions due

Tuesday, March 24, 2026

Kindred Post is thrilled to announce the 2026 Alaska Statewide Postcard Contest, and we’re officially calling on artists and photographers from across the state to submit their work!

Each year, thousands of visitors walk through our doors in downtown Juneau. They browse, connect, and send snail mail. The postcards they choose travel far beyond Alaska. This is your opportunity to create the postcard that will travel the world.
Art That Travels

We’re looking for original artwork and photography that captures something meaningful — whether that’s the wild beauty of Alaska, a burst of color, a quiet moment, or a reflection of what feels needed right now.

Selected designs will be professionally printed and sold at Kindred Post as part of our official postcard collection. From there, they’ll be mailed across the globe by visitors who want to carry a piece of Alaska home with them.
