The Music on the Dock is presented by the City of Ketchikan and administered by the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council (KAAHC). We schedule performances to occur from noon to 1pm during heavy visitor days to maximize exposure for local musicians and showcase the community of Ketchikan's character and creativity!

DETAILS ABOUT MUSIC ON THE DOCK!!!!
WHO CAN PERFORM:
All local musicians in the Ketchikan area are invited to take advantage of this opportunity!!!! There is an application for all performers in order to participate. If you have not performed previously you must also submit a recording of you and/or your group performing.WHEN & WHERE ARE THE PERFORMANCES:
12:00pm to 1:00pm, June through September as weather allows (and the money holds out)
Rainy Days - Under cover of the Berth 3 shelter
Sunny Days - By the Ketchikan Visitors Bureau on Berth 2COMPENSATION:
This is an opportunity for all types of musicians to perform, including individuals or groups of any size. Remuneration will be $125 per musician for an hour performance, up to 5 musicians, or $625. If you have more than 5 musicians in your group – no problem! You may split the $625 between the group. We will schedule musicians until the funding is all spent!!WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT CAN MUSICIANS EXPECT:
KAAHC will schedule all the performances in advance for poster, online, and social media promotion. (The Ketchikan community is strongly encouraged to attend the lunchtime performances. There are typically picnic tables and benches placed near the performance area for locals and visitors to enjoy the music!)AVAILABLE TECH:
• A small, portable sound pod with 6 inputs.
• A sound tech will be there to help you set up and monitor sound.
• There will be electricity at both locations.
• Due to space and accessibility, not all tech requirements may be accommodated.MERCH & DONATIONS:
In addition to performing, this is an opportunity for you to sell your CDs and to collect donations from visitors enjoying your performance.IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Your band needs to check in with sound and be ready to take the stage 15 minutes prior to your set time. Be prepared to set up and take down quickly. We will not extend your set time! Large groups - please keep in mind the size of the performance area is limited.You must perform for the full hour from 12pm to 1pm. Don’t have 60 minutes of music? No problem! Connect with your musician friends and apply together.
Music on the Dock is open to the public. Families and children will be attending, so please keep that in mind. The sound levels will be adjusted according to this dynamic as well. The sound technician is ultimately in charge of the quality and level of sound.
Schedules will be promoted well in advance. If your application is approved you will be notified of your set date/time via the e-mail listed in your application.
APPLICATIONS WILL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING:
• If you have not performed on the Music on the Dock series previously, we will need an MP3 of a few of your songs, or links to YouTube or music hosting sites with your performances. If you can’t swing recordings of your group, we will schedule a live audition and/or interview with your group.

• A song list (Music must be a-political and appropriate for all ages!)
• Your availability through the summer
• You want to play more than once? Great! That is something we will want to know in the application. We will schedule performances through September, and we anticipate that groups will be able to play more than once (if the weather cooperates...and the money doesn’t run out)Once we have given everyone dates - we will send you a contract for your performance(s). You must return your signed contract in order to perform in the Music on the Dock concert series.
