The Ketchikan Youth Wearable Art Show is the place for young artists ages 18 and younger to shine!
Supported by a committee of volunteers and the Youth Wearable Art Class, the Ketchikan Youth Wearable Art Show gives young artists, performers, stage tech, and speakers the opportunity to learn and grow and to take ownership of this event. Over the past 4 performances, the students' artistry and creativity for the Wearable medium has blossomed.

“Off the Deep End”, the 5th Annual Youth Wearable Art Show performance was absolutely the best! But even more importantly, each young artist’s participation was a success!!!!
The artists developed a concept, they created a design to reflect their concept, and then they transferred their design into a piece of art that they could wear (some of them had help, some of them did it all by themselves), and then they performed. It was a wonderful evening!
We can’t thank you enough for supporting young artists in Ketchikan and giving them the opportunity to learn the Wearable art form. It is an art form that is embedded in Ketchikan’s culture, and with the expertise of the young artists we saw on Saturday, we know it will continue long into Ketchikan’s future!!! |
