Salmon Walk Information and Application

Saturday, May 4th, 10am to 1pm, Museum Parking Lot

The Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council, in collaboration with the Ketchikan Museums and the City of Ketchikan, is hosting an artist market in the Museum lot for the unveiling of Ketchikan’s new Salmon Walk. Crafted along Married Man’s Trail and Ketchikan Creek, the Salmon Walk not only educates on the area’s natural history but also highlights the profound contributions of local artists.

To celebrate the opening of the Salmon Walk, Ketchikan is holding a celebration on Saturday, May 4th, from 10:00am to 1:00pm, complete with speeches, music, presentations and ARTISTS!!!!

There are only 29 booths available, and we are asking that artwork being sold relates to salmon and/or the creek or the ocean. Only artists creating original work will be included in the market.

Please apply by April 12th, 2024.


BOOTH DETAILS:

  • This opportunity is open to local Ketchikan artists only.
  • Participating artists must be current members of the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council.
  • Booths will be filled on a first come, first served basis. However, KAAHC will curate booth selection to some degree to maintain the theme of salmon, the creek, and the ocean.
  • Booth fee will be $50.
  • Because of limited availability, only one booth per artist will be given.
  • All booths will be 10 x 10ft.
  • Load in will begin at 7am.
  • Booths may be open from 10am to 1pm
  • Booths will be located in the Museum Lot between the Parnassus Book store and the Tongass Historical Museum
  • Participating Artists’ work must be original and reference salmon, the creek, and/or the ocean.
  • Once all booth spaces are filled, further applicants will be put on a waiting list.
  • No live animals are allowed at your booth. Not as prizes, give-a-ways, or furry companions. Certified service animals, however, are very welcome unless they are displaying disruptive or aggressive behavior.
  • Artists may not sell, transfer, lease, or switch booth spaces.
  • Artists must provide your own canopy, chairs, tables, booth, set-up, and take-down crew.
  • There will be no food booths at this event.
  • The deadline to withdraw and receive a full refund is April 19th, 2024. Please keep us in the loop of any changes to your booth occupation situation.
