Above and Below the Sea

A solo exhibit by artist Jess Davila

Displayed February 3rd - April 10th, 2023

My art is an expression of caricature of ocean life and the lights of landscapes above it. The ocean, A place of mystery and mayhem but the lights that sparkle and mingle in the delicate space between both worlds. Repetition is found in this body of work in the form of schools of fish and jellies but also sunsets and rises. Hidden in the repetition are surprises such as cut plugs for the viewer to find. There is magic in everyday, my hope is to inspire those to look beyond the repetition and discover the beauty in unusual and unexpected places. Encourage play and laughter.
