Human Landscapes: Portraits and Stories

Photographer Jeff Fitzwater creates images of community members sharing their stories, emotions, and connections to family and friends. In addition, on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 from 1pm to 2:30pm Jeff will present his artist presentation. The presentation will take the form of a workshop explaining the process of how we create a face portrait similar to some of the ones in the exhibit. They will first ask for volunteers and draw a winner who will become our model for the presentation. While Nicole takes our volunteer model "behind the curtain" for hair and makeup (if needed), Jeff will explain the process behind their idea and implementation creative process and begin to put together the portrait "box" that they will use for the shot. The lighting process is very easy to produce and create a great portrait. We'll shoot several images with a variety of lighting and with everyone watching and giving input. They will then put up the images on screen and choose the "best" one. We'll show the editing steps and give them a digital file as a "thank you!"
