The Southeast Alaska Discovery Center is excited to announce the 2026 Summer Art Show featuring Terry Pyles!

Join us for the Opening Reception Friday June 5, from 5-7 p.m. at the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center.

Pyles is a celebrated Alaskan artist residing in Ketchikan, known for his vivid representations of Alaska’s natural beauty and wildlife. His notable works include the mosaic salmon sculpture "Yeltatzie's Salmon" and a life-sized Orca sculpture in Salmon Landing.

Originally from Seattle, Pyles moved to Alaska at 18, working as a fishing guide and immersing himself in the wilderness, which deeply influenced his art. He is recognized as a leading wildlife painter, capturing animals like bears and eagles in dramatic landscapes. His diverse artistic practice also includes sculpture, mosaics, stained glass, and more.
