Friday, August 10, 2018

Main Street Gallery

Lindy-hop originated in Harlem in the late 1920’s. It is a form of swing dance that evolved in conjunction with jazz music, but also incorporates many other forms of dance. Dancers would incorporate all kinds of dances and moves to individualize the dance and outdo each other in the dance halls. The dance closely follows the character of its music. AND, you can incorporate it with your east coast swing.

In these sessions we will be learning the basics. There will be two hour long classes the first at 4:15 and the second at 5:30. Then join us at Happy Hour at the Creek Street Cabaret, you'll have an opportunity to test you new moves and to meet other dancers from all over the world!!!
