"History Lives Here" Family Fun Run & Walk
Join the Pioneers of Alaska Ketchikan for a family fun run/walk taking you through Ketchikan's Downtown history! Start at the Pioneer Hall at 10am. Snacks! Open to all ages with hopes that families will join in the healthy and educational activity! The course is 1.5 miles with an optional 1-mile extension.
$10 registration opens March 17, children under 12 FREE
All funds support the restoration of the Pioneer Hall.

Yellow Art Competition Deadline
We are pleased to announce our third Yellow online Art Competition for the month of May 2025. The theme may feature any artwork showcasing the color “Yellow” or its various shades, including beige, lemon yellow, canary yellow, and golden yellow. All visual art mediums are allowed.
In addition to the selected artists, the jury will select award winners in the following art categories: painting, photography, sculpture. All selected artists will receive a digital award certificate. An article about each artist will be displayed alongside the best of show and three winners. The best of show will be displayed on the poster of the exhibition. Judging the artwork will be based on the following criteria: creativity, originality and quality of art, overall design, demonstration of artistic ability, and usage of medium. The jury will not consider artworks with pornographic or satanic content. Entry fees are $20 for two pieces of artwork. You may submit more than two images; there is no limit to the number of images an artist may submit. The application deadline is April 30, 2025.
Arts Report on KRBD
Each week at approximately 8:20 am KRBD hosts the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council for their weekly report on arts and humanities in Ketchikan and the surrounding area. Get a synopsis of the local music scene, performances, Gallery exhibits, pop-ups, and Calls to artists. The Arts Report often features special guests from the Ketchikan Theatre Ballet, Artists, and Curators. Tune in weekly to KRBD 105.3 FM Ketchikan, Metlakatla and Saxman, 107.1 FM North Ketchikan, Ward Cove, and Ketchikan, 101.7: Craig, 90.7: North Point Higgins, 90.1: Mountain Point, Hydaburg, Klawock, and Thorne Bay.

Arts in the Cove
Arts In The Cove invites you to apply to play for our annual festival, Arts In The Cove, A Festival By the Sea taking place August 8th & 9th in scenic Coffman Cove, Alaska. We strive to have a variety of performers throughout the festival, and we want you to be a part of this exciting event! Compensation varies per performer, and upon acceptance an offer will be made. Completed applications must be received no later than May 1st, if accepted you will receive a preliminary performance confirmation by June 1st.

Magsayawan Ketchikan Performs!
See Magsayawan Ketchikan perform during the Celebration of the Sea Blessing of the Fleet! Magsayawan dancers along with other community dance groups will open the Blessing.
OPENING "Hikes of Ketchikan Through the Eye of an Artist" - a solo exhibt by Gabriele Beyer
Join artist Gabriele Beyer for the Opening of her first Main Street Gallery exhibit! Her colorful solo exhibit explores impressions from local hiking trails around Ketchikan. The exhibit runs May 2 through May 30th.
Celebration of the Sea Art Walk
Start off the summer with a bang at the Celebration of the Sea Art Walk. Downtown arts businesses go all out for this season opening art walk showcasing artists stunning works! PLUS the Blessing of the Fleet kicks off at 5pm on Berth 2. This year Magsayawan Ketchikan and other dance groups start the event right at 5pm.
Art businesses may sign up for the Celebration of the Sea Art Walk beginning in mid March.
Kids' Night Out - Ketchiakn Theatre Ballet
You can drop the kids off at Ketchikan Theatre Ballet and head out to the Celebration of the Sea Art! Kids will a variety of activities to participate in!!! Dinner provided!

Rain Stories: Tales from the Creek - KRBD
Ketchikan was once called “The Wickedest Town in the West.” Join Ray Troll, Jack Darrell, Hilary Koch, and Leila Khiery as they interview guests about the infamous history of Creek Street and the legendary ladies of the line and other characters. You may think you know about Creek Street, but there’s so much more to the story.
4th Annual Iron Sky Highland Games - Amtgard Ketchikan
Tickets are required to participate - but it you just want to go watch some of the games and see a glorious spectacle - its free!!!
Line Dancing!!!
Never line danced before? This might just be the chance to learn!!!! $5 at the door!
