March 25 – April 2, 2023 (students responsible for materials) Mon. – Fri. 5:30-8:30 p.m., Sat. & Sun. 10:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.

Kandi McGilton is a weaving student of master weavers, Delores and Holly Churchill, focusing on the endangered Annette Island style of Tsimshian basketry. In this class students will focus on the unique and subtle intricacies of plaiting. Students are responsible for supplying their own red cedar bark. This class counts toward a Certificate of Merit in Weaving.

Registration for Spring classes opens in December 2022. You are welcome to register via phone (907.225.5900), email, or stop by the Totem Heritage Center.

Join them on Tuesdays from 6-9:00pm and bring your weaving, regalia, and design projects to work in the company of fellow Northwest Coast artists and students.

Arts Report on KRBD

Each week at approximately 8:20 am KRBD hosts the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council for their weekly report on arts and humanities in Ketchikan and the surrounding area. Get a synopsis of the local music scene, performances, Gallery exhibits, pop-ups, and Calls to artists. The Arts Report often features special guests from the Ketchikan Theatre Ballet, Artists, and Curators. Tune in weekly to KRBD 105.3 FM Ketchikan, Metlakatla and Saxman, 107.1 FM North Ketchikan, Ward Cove, and Ketchikan, 101.7: Craig, 90.7: North Point Higgins, 90.1: Mountain Point, Hydaburg, Klawock, and Thorne Bay.

This open-level Ballet class is geared toward adults with no previous dance experience.

Move your body, burn calories and learn the basics of Classical Ballet technique! There is no dance or ballet experience necessary for this class. This class is designed for adults who are new to dance and have always wanted to experience the beauty of ballet! Punch cards are also available for this class.
