Hear the history of Wearable, artists' stories about creating and sharing their wearable art, and upcoming Wearable events with Kathleen Light, Victoria Lord, and Wearable Art Show artists!!! This virtual event will premiere live on the Tongass Historical Museum Facebook page.

Practicing the Messiah, Judi Green will be the accompanist for rehearsals this spring.

Illustrating Alaska Artists Making Children's Books (Online)
Ketchikan artist Evon Zerbetz, along with Jim Fowler, Michaela Goade, and Mitchell Watley, will be featured in this Alaska State Museum exhibit!!! The physical exhibit will be on display at the State Museum February 5th 4:30 pm through April 3, 2021. Yippee!!!!

A new exhibit at the State Museum explores the colorful and intriguing process of illustrating children’s books. The exhibit, curated by Sarah Asper-Smith, highlights the process of four different Alaskan illustrators: Jim Fowler, Evon Zerbetz, Michaela Goade, and Mitchell Watley. Each has a unique perspective on creating illustrations for a children’s book.

The opening of Illustrating Alaska: Artists Making Children’s Books is online February 5, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at https://lam.alaska.gov/illustrating-alaska. The physical exhibit will be on display at the State Museum from February 5th through April 3, 2021.

Illustrating Alaska is presented by Exhibit AK and the Alaska State Museum, with support from: the Alaska State Libraries, Friends of the Alaska State Library, Archives, and Museum; Alaska Litho; Sealaska Heritage Institute - Baby Raven Reads program; Alaska Robotics; Lucid Reverie; Rainy Retreat bookshop; and Hearthside Books

Exhibit Opening "Art in the Time of the Face Mask"

This is an exhibit of art submissions answering the call to create face masks and face mask art from the functional to the fantastical!!!
The exhibit is in Quarantine and available for viewing in-person through the Front Vestibule windows of the Main Street Gallery from February 5th at 5:00 pm through February 26th at 5:00 pm. The online Main Street Gallery' of the exhibit will be available at 5:30 pm

Tune in to KRBD and cozy up by the fire and enjoy a new episode of Stories at latitude 56: The Radio Edition! Host Jack Finnegan will introduce prerecorded stories of local residents' mishaps and adventures. Jack Finnegan will host this half-hour radio show! First Saturdays February - May!
