Submit your short film to be considered for the 2nd Annual Ketchikan Film Festival on August 23rd at the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center Videos must be 10 minutes or less. Evening of Crafts
T.A.G. is hosting an evening of crafts for those age 13 to 25ish from 4:30 to 7:30 pm at the Ketchikan Public Library. Drop-in any time to create and make portable art using a variety of crafting supplies. Those participating in the teen summer program can earn two entries into the prize drawings as well as a space on the bingo cards. Free!

Baton Rouge Gallery: Uncommon Thread: Essomenia
Where the worlds of contemporary art, fashion, and craft collide, there is Uncommon Thread. Showcasing exceptional design and artistry through wearable art, Uncommon Thread is a national juried art event and competition. It is dedicated to being a unique platform for artists and designers to present their work and giving audiences a one-of-a-kind visual experience with this exciting art form.
Baton Rouge Gallery is currently accepting submissions for Uncommon Thread: Essomenia, taking place at BRG on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
All artists/designers chosen as finalists will have their selected work(s) featured during the Uncommon Thread event at BRG on September 21, when one standout piece will be named Best in Show and awarded a $1,000 cash prize.

Best Blueberry Dish
Practice, Practice, Practice those delish blueberry dishes! Bring in your dish by 3:00 pm sharp to get it judged against the rest of Ketchikan. Prizes for First, Second, and Third, and Peoples Choice!
Rules for the Best Blueberry Arts Festival Blueberry Dish…
• Dishes are due to the arts council – ready to serve before 3 pm on Friday, August 2nd, 2019.
• Up to two recipes will be accepted.
• Your dish may be savory or sweet.
• Your dish should make a full recipe that will allow for a minimum of 12 sample servings.
• The predominant flavor profile must be…BLUEBERRIES!!!
• The dish must be an original recipe OR your own personal adaptation of a recipe.
• Your dish will be presented at the opening of the Blueberry Arts Festival Art Exhibit.
• The winning dish will be featured on the specials menu for the month of August at the New York Cafe.
Pet and Doll Parade
Start the 44th Annual Blueberry Arts Festival weekend off right! With the cutest parade in Ketchikan! The Pet and Doll Parade starts at the Police Station parking lot on Grant and Main Streets and ends at the Fire Station. Join us afterward at the Fire Station for cookies and a special gift from the Ketchikan Public Library. This event is sponsored by Community Connections Early Learning Program, Wells Fargo, and the Ketchikan Volunteer Fire Department. Bring your favorite pet or doll or both! Dress up, dress them up! Fun fun fun!!! Free to all! Appropriate for all ages!
BLUEBERRY ARTS FESTIVAL!!
The Annual Blueberry Arts Festival is Ketchikan's favorite summer community event! Always the first weekend in August, the Festival kicks off Friday with the Pet and Doll Parade, and continues through Sunday with the Handmade Human Powered Blueberry boat Race, the Poetry Slam and finishes up withe the Gigglefeet Dance Festival final performance.
Opening Reception - "Blueberry Arts Festival Art Exhibit"
Join us for the Opening Reception of the "Blueberry Arts Festival Art Exhibit". This annual open-call exhibit features new works from the whole community working in any medium. Main Street Gallery openings are always the first Friday of the month, and are free and open to the public.

20th Annual Gigglefeet Dance Festival - Opening Night
The Gigglefeet Dance Festival is a community celebration of dance produced through a collaborative effort by First City Players, Ketchikan Theatre Ballet and the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council. The Gigglefeet Dance Festival's mission is to strengthen the Ketchikan dance community by supporting emerging and established dancers, choreographers, and encourage appreciation of dance throughout the community. Tickets - Adults $18, Students/Senior and Military $15
Blueberry Fun Run
Blueberry Fun Run Details: We are trying to have everyone register on-line 1 miles starts at 9:00 am, 5k walk/run and 10k run starts at 9:30 am. Starting line is at the police station corner of Grant and Main.
The Slug Weigh In
Children 12 and under, bring your slugs and get them weighed for the great Blueberry Arts Festival Slug Race. A cute Sluggo from ketch-i-kreatures! is the prize for the biggest slug!

Starting at 12:30 pm we will have musical talents from Russ Kearney, Wyatt Zylawy, Cullen McCormick, skits from First City Players Summer Camp, "Once Upon a Mattress", and an introduction to this year's Devas and Devos! Join us at the Main Stage for a musical Extravaganza!!!
