Ketchikan area Artists and Creatives have been inspiring the communities of this area since the beginning. Whether it is beautifully engineered and created halibut hooks, or the magnificent totem poles of the area, to the stories, poetry and drawings for the inception of the Alaska Magazine, to the creation and evolution of Wearable Art in Alaska artists continue to make the world we live in meaningful and joyful.

ELIGIBILITY
All individuals currently living in Alaska are invited to apply. Any visual and 2D media is accepted, with the knowledge that some manipulation may need to be done to the final product for merchandise rendering (see Design Tips for more details).

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Applications are due online on the form hosted at: akfolkfest.org

Artists are required to submit:

Minimum 2 examples of previous work
Short Artist bio
Simple sketch of your AFF Poster idea
Short description detailing your AFF Poster idea

Oct 1, 2025 - Submissions due to AFF Board

Oct 15, 2025 - Artist selection announced

Dec 1, 2025 - Final draft due to AFF Board
