Biz Robbins - "Life Jacket"

"Life Jacket: A Memoir of a Float Camp Teacher", is a recollection of events the author, Biz Robbins, experienced upon her move to Alaska in 1978 when she and her husband began teaching in Southeastern logging camps. The memoir portrays the lifestyle of the era as well as the challenges of dealing with a cancer diagnosis and eventual death. The author is left to teach without her husband on a floating camp nestled in a remote bay where she grieves and grows in the midst of the close-knit community.
