The Northwest Coast frontlet was traditionally worn by high-ranking individuals for ceremonial occasions. The frontlet features the owner’s house or clan crest carved in high relief and is traditionally part of an elaborate headdress. Renowned Tlingit carver Tommy Joseph will guide students through the steps of this challenging project from design, to the basic form, and finishing details. This class counts toward a Certificate of Merit in Carving.

Registration for Spring classes opens in December 2022. You are welcome to register via phone (907.225.5900), email, or stop by the Totem Heritage Center.
