The border or boundary of an area
The outermost limits
A study of both natural and contextual boundaries, this body of work explores the vastness and beauty of the physical elements of land, sea, and sky that serve as both creators of space as well as a divide.
To be on the periphery, an island surrounded with wilderness we exist on the edge of things, literally within a circumscribed area of shoreline. This series of paintings is a personal narrative about confronting boundaries both physically and metaphorically. It is an exercise in truth-seeking regarding feelings of freedom versus restraint. The work of PERIMETER is about identifying boundaries, ultimately moving beyond and finding your way.
*All works are painted on acid-free, hand-stretched cotton canvas, and framed in hemlock.
