X-WR-CALDESC:The Ursa Major Fund provides grants to Alaska artists and arti
 st collectives to foster the development and presentation of artist-led\, 
 risk-taking\, public-facing projects that inspire curiosity\, engagement\,
  dialogue and respect for cultural integrity. The call for applications op
 ens September 1 and closes October 31 annually.\n\nFifteen grants are prov
 ided each year at the following levels:\n\nSpark: Six $1000 grants for sma
 ller engagements.\nShine: Six $4000 grants for mid-size projects.\nNova: T
 hree $10\,000 grants for a larger scale public engagement projects.\n\nEli
 gibility:\n- Artists and culture bearers who define Alaska as home.\n- For
  collaborative projects\, the artist who submits the proposal serves as th
 e Lead Applicant. The Lead Applicant and a majority of collaborators shoul
 d define Alaska as home.\n- Applicants must have a valid social security n
 umber to receive payment.\n- Artists and culture bearers who are over 18 y
 ears old. \n\nArtists MUST attend an information session prior to applicat
 ion. \n\nStatewide Info Sessions are held by Zoom monthly from July throug
 h September. Info sessions will cover application guidelines and answer qu
 estions.\n\n2025 Statewide Info Sessions will be held:\n\nAugust 25th\, 5p
 m\nSeptember 29th\, 5pm\n\nThis grant is administered by the Bunnell Stree
 t Arts Center.
