 rness artist residency application period is now open.  This year\, there 
 are eleven different opportunities being hosted through the US Forest Serv
 ice\, National Park Service\, and US Fish & Wildlife Service across Alaska
 .\n\nThis unique artist-in-residence program pairs wilderness specialists 
 with a volunteer artist\, to be actively engaged in stewardship projects s
 uch as research\, monitoring\, and education\, all while residing in a bac
 kcountry setting.  In exchange for this opportunity\, artists donate a wor
 k of art and provide a community public extension\, such as a slideshow le
 cture or workshop.\n\nWhile the deadline to apply is March 1\, 2023\, they
  encourage all artists to submit their application early for careful consi
 deration.  It’s free to apply\, and the program is open to artists of all
