Intermediate Cedar Bark Weaving with Kandi Mc Gilton
Kandi McGilton is a weaving student of master weavers,
Delores and Holly Churchill, focusing on the endangered
Annette Island style of Tsimshian basketry. This unique style
features an intricate element called “false embroidery,” and
students will create a small, open face basket in the Annette
Island style. Students are responsible for supplying their
own red cedar, canary grass, and maidenhair fern. This
class counts toward a Certificate of Merit in Weaving.
