With their trademark rubboard percussion, electric guitars and R&B influences, Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas make a distinctive Caribbean lilt that reaches back to the very beginnings of Creole culture in Louisiana. Choose between two dates for a great night out- fabulous Zydeco music and dancing, a no-host bar, and a traditional Creole cuisine by the Cape Fox Lodge at the Ted Ferry Civic Center on Saturday, or a performance at the Kayhi Auditorium Sunday evening. Dance workshops will be offered prior to the performances, stay tuned for details. “The Cha Chas takes the audience not only to another region, but to another time - emphasizing that the spirit of zydeco still burns hot," writes Blues Revue. Sponsored by the Arts Council with the generous support of the Cape Fox Lodge and Restaurant. www.concertedefforts.com
