Photo by Hall Anderson/ Ketchikan Daily News, 2005. From the 19th annual Wearable Art Show. Haunting and zany by turns, this is a Ketchikan success story with three evenings of wearable creations by local and visiting artists in our unforgettably wild fashion runway show. The traditional Friday and Saturday gala events include hors d’oeuvres, desserts, coffee, and a no-host bar. The Sunday performance features wearable art from the gala shows, as well as student entries, and is open to all ages, but may not be suitable for younger children. The Arts Council offers several grants for wearable art submissions with a maximum of $150 awarded to accepted entries. Both the supply grant and travel expense grant applications are available at the Arts Council and are due by 5pm on Friday, December 10, 2005. Please contact us with questions. Wearable Art Show entries are to be submitted to the Arts Council by 5pm on Friday, January 20, 2006 for artists under 18 years of age, and by 5pm Friday, January 27, 2006 for adult artists. Registration forms are available through the Arts Council. |
