The 11th Annual Gigglefeet Dance Festival:

an Invitation to Dancers and Choreographers

 

 

 


Criteria/Guidelines:
While the Gigglefeet Dance Committee reserves the right to exclude work that is inappropriate for this performance, we in no way wish to discourage provocative and/or challenging art.
Gigglefeet is open to dancers, choreographers, and tech personnel of all styles.
While dancers of all ages are welcome, parents should be advised of mature dance styles and themes.
You may choreograph or dance in as many pieces as you wish.
In an effort to accommodate artistic expression and the audience, we will limit the number of pieces that exceed 5 minutes, and strongly suggest that longer pieces be registered as early as possible.

Performances:
Friday, August 1st and Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 at 7:30pm in the Ketchikan High School Auditorium. Dancers must arrive by 7pm.

Deadlines:
Travel and costume grants are available on a first come, first serve basis. Call First City Players for more information.

Registration deadline: All pieces must be registered by 5pm, Friday, July 18­th at FCP, upstairs in the Plaza. Registration forms and guidelines are available at KAAHC, FCP and KTB or at www.ketchikanarts.org.
Special Tech Requirements? Your complete Advanced Technical Requirements sheet is due on Friday, July 18th at FCP. (Forms available at FCP offices or visit www.ketchikanarts.org).
You must complete and turn in a Model Release Form in order to participate. Available at FCP, or visit www.ketchikanarts.org

Rehearsals:
Rehearsal Space: Studio space is available through the Ketchikan Theatre Ballet and must be scheduled in advance: 907-225-9311, 400 Mission, Ste. 205, Ketchikan AK 99901. You are responsible for the safety and supervision of all participants in your group, including children, as this is a liability issue.
Tech Rehearsals: Held Saturday, July 26th beginning at 10am & Sunday, July 27th beginning at 1pm. First City Players will schedule your tech rehearsal time for one of these days. Please direct all technical requests and questions to the First City Players: 907-225-4792. Time restraints will be taken into consideration on a first-come, first-served basis.
Music: Music must be submitted by July 26th to the First City Players, 2417 Tongass, #218, Ketchikan, AK 99901. Final Dress Rehearsal: Attendance is mandatory for the duration of the rehearsal. Held Wednesday, July 30th and Thursday, July 31st at 7pm in the Ketchikan High School Auditorium.

Consultations:
To fulfill a mission to assist artists in the preparation and development of performance pieces, the Gigglefeet Dance Committee offers consultations to dancers, choreographers, and tech personnel with a member of the Committee. We are here to assist you for any reason and would be happy to discuss your piece and presentation for the Festival.

Model Release Form:
